RESULTS OF THE TEXAS COMPETITION

We are proud to announce the finalists for the oral report competition as noted below. The competition was close this year, but the following 5 written papers recceived the highest marks and will present at TIPS in front of the oral committee. The oral committee panelists are also noted below. The finals will be judgetd 50% on existing written report and 50% on oral presentation. Eacn team will have 10 minures to present followed by 10 minutes of Q&A from the panel. In the event of a tie, the team with the highest oral score will be declared the winner. Team participation will be scored, so as much of a team should participate as possible. One winner will be choosen and they will go on to compete at Regionals in New York.

2 time winner of the IRC-Texas competition announced - University of Houston!
University of Houston wins the Investment Research Competition (IRC) – Texas ‘10 competition and Southern Methodist University comes in second at TIPS. This is U of H’s 2nd time to win the IRC-Texas. Their team went on to compete against other challenge winners (28 local challenges across Canada, Latin America and the U.S.) in CFA Institute’s Americas Regional IRC held March 18th in New York City. The winner was Brigham Young University who will now go on to compete with Fordham University, University of the Philippines-Diliman, and the yet to be determined winner of the Europe, Middle East, Asia (EMEA) IRC. This Global IRC will be held on April 17, 2010 in Hong Kong. For more IRC details . . . . .
