Facilitator
David A. Morris joined Heidrick & Struggles in 1994 as the founding Managing Partner responsible for opening an office in Houston. He is a member of the firm’s Board Practice and is an active member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC).
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Mr. Morris was with Russell Reynolds Associates serving as Managing Director and Branch Manager of its Houston office. Mr. Morris has conducted a wide variety of senior management assignments for leading corporations in the Southwest, both public and private.
Some of Mr. Morris’ client relationships include: McDermott International, Imperial Sugar, Sysco, Enterprise Products Partners, Allied Waste, and USAA. Morris also leads the firm’s work in Endowments and Public Funds. His clients have included public funds in the states of California, Texas, Ohio, Wisconsin, New York and Connecticut. The endowments he has worked with recently are: University of Texas (UTIMCO), University of Chicago, University of California, Notre Dame, University of Cincinnati and Texas Christian University.
Before entering the search industry in 1977, Mr. Morris had a distinguished career in financial services. He was Vice President/Portfolio Manager and Investment Counselor with the Houston office of Lionel D. Edie & Company, then a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch. In this position, he was responsible for managing pension and profit sharing plans, foundations, and public funds. He began his career with the United States Trust Company of New York as an officer in the Investment Division.
Mr. Morris received a B.B.A. degree and an M.B.A. in finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
